Researchers from French and Italian universities found that AI advice drastically reduced people's willingness to admit ignorance and lowered accuracy, while increasing confidence in their answers. Using a flawed AI model on visual film trivia, they observed that people often trusted incorrect AI responses, leading to poorer performance despite higher confidence.
