Cathay Pacific and Google have completed over 80 ultra-long-haul flights using AI to adjust cruise altitudes and avoid contrails, reducing their warming impact by about 40%. The trial focused on flights over 16 hours, mainly on the Hong Kong to Singapore route, demonstrating significant climate benefits with minimal fuel penalty.
