Decoupling from China would cost the West $23.6tn

EY-Parthenon estimates that decoupling the US, eurozone, and UK from China in critical industries would cost $23.6tn over 25 years, with the US bearing $13.7tn, the eurozone $9.1tn, and the UK $800bn. This investment would be needed to reduce reliance on Chinese manufacturing, technology, research, software, and supply chains, especially in sectors like chips and rare earth materials essential for tech and energy industries.
