A Carnegie Mellon study analyzed over 3,100 blog posts and Reddit threads plus GitHub data, finding that AI-generated pull requests are merged faster and reviewed less extensively than human ones. About 40% of AI PRs are reviewed only by the person who triggered the AI, compared to 21.5% for human PRs, indicating a shift in code review practices with AI involvement.
