Micron breaks ground on $9bn Hiroshima expansion to chase AI memory demand

Micron Technology has started a $9.3 billion expansion of its Hiroshima factory to produce high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for AI accelerators, with commercial shipments expected by summer 2028.
