OpenAI puts $1bn behind cyber defence for water utilities and community banks

OpenAI has committed $1 billion to its Daybreak for Frontline Defenders program, providing subsidized AI cyber defense tools to water utilities, community banks, and local governments. The initiative includes API credits, training, and technical support, initially in the U.S., alongside the release of GPT-6 Astra, a model meeting critical cyber defense standards.
