Pacman AI for controlling fusion systems makes key decisions in milliseconds

Researchers at DOE's Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and Princeton University developed PACMAN, an AI framework that makes split-second control decisions in fusion systems to manage plasma instabilities. Tested successfully in five experiments, PACMAN enables real-time adjustments in tokamak devices, overcoming the slow simulation speeds of traditional models.
