Russian startup Mostik developed a method for AI models to communicate directly through their mathematical weights, enabling smaller models to gain capabilities from larger ones efficiently. They demonstrated this by bridging two Chinese open-weight models, achieving performance between the two at a fraction of the cost. This approach could enhance open-weight models' competitiveness against proprietary AI systems.
