The startup's teleoperated robots have packed nearly 1 million items since December, working alongside human staff and controlled by remote contractors in countries like Mexico and the Philippines. Instead of selling robots, Avatar charges a subscription fee, offering a cost-effective alternative to direct warehouse labor.
