X said Chinese bots fuelled the data centre backlash. A researcher checked

X claimed to have found a Chinese bot farm influencing American opinions against AI data centers, but Clemson researcher Darren Linvill found the accounts had no real engagement and were likely suspended quickly. The posts were mostly from January and included links and AI-generated cartoons. X's disclosure lacked details on account operators and the extent of the bot farm's activity.
